Fourth-largest synagogue in Europe, located in the centre of the Bulgarian capital
The Sofia Synagogue was built between 1905 and 1909 in a mix of styles. The architecture mixes oriental and neo-Venetian influences with elements of the Viennese Secession. The synagogue is only a few metres away from the Banja-Baschi mosque.
The synagogue in Sofia is one of the two active ones in Bulgaria and is also open to visitors.
