Vtáčnik (1 345 m) je najvyšší vrch v rovnomennom pohorí a na jeho vrchole sa týči vysoký nerezový kríž.

Vedie sem viacero turistických chodníkov. Najkratší začína v obci Kľak. Cestou miniete chránený areál Ivanov salaš a Partizánsku chatu, pri ktorej je les Škurátka v tvare päťcípej hviezdy, vysadený na počesť padlým vojakom SNP. Nájdete tu staré pralesovité porasty a na jeseň čučoriedky. Túra trvá asi 5,5 hodiny a má prevýšenie asi 860 m. V zime je Vtáčnik obľúbeným cieľom skialpinistov. Možná trasa vedie aj z konca obce Ostrý Grúň cez Rúbaný vrch.
