Mountain peak making up part of the Nagelfluhkette.

The Steineberg (1683 m) is a part of the Nagelfluhkette chain. This easily accessible and beautifully panoramic mountain above the Illertal valley can be climbed from Immenstadt and Gunzesried and is considered one of the most popular destinations in this region, offering a fantastic view over the Allgäu Alps and the surrounding valleys. The summit can be reached via several hiking trails and for the adventurous - a 17 m long ladder can be found at the top! There is an alternative path for those who choose not to take the impressive ladder.
