Die Knittelkarspitze ist mit 2376 m der höchste Gipfel der Liegfeistgruppe im Nordosten der Lechtaler Alpen.
Der markante Felsgipfel der Knittelkarspitze ist mit einem Gipfelkreuz geschmückt. Die Aussicht reicht über den Hauptkamm der Lechtaler Alpen und die Allgäuer Alpen bis zum Wetterstein. Über einen etwa 500 m langen Felsgrat ist die Knittelkarspitze mit ihrem Vorgipfel, dem Knittelkarkopf, verbunden. Das Bergmassiv wurde in der Vergangenheit von Erdbeben heimgesucht, dessen Epizentrum unter der Knittelkarspitze vermutet wird.
