Knittelkarspitze

From Namlos, we walk 3 kilometers to Kelmen and follow a forest path to Kelmer Jöchl (1852 m). Further into Steinkar towards Hintere Steinkarspitze until a signpost on the left indicates the main path towards Knittelkarspitze. Long ascent in a sweeping right turn to the ridge  and further to the summit. (2376 m). Descent on the well-marked path through rocky terrain towards Schönjöchl to point 2262 where we avoid the ascent on the southern ridge during the descent and pass Schönjöchl (2114 m) on the west side. Steeply down in a clearing. Two right traverses  one up to a reflector at about 1930 m, the other into a larch area. Down a steep mountain slope  to a switchback at 1600 m. Descending in steep terrain with a right bend to note. We enter light forest and the markings improve. We descend through the forest to the upper houses of Namlos.
