A bővizű Szent László-forrás nemcsak turistáknak biztosít frissítő- és pihenőpontot, hanem a lakosság is előszeretettel szerez vizet innen. A kút mellett betonból készített pad-asztal szett áll.
A forrás szabadon álló kifolyója mögött az impozáns foglalás egy vízmű elkerített területén áll, egyéb üzemi építmények körében.

Patinás múlt

A Szent László-forrás a mátrai természetjárás kezdeteitől fogva a hegység jellegzetes pontja: a Mátra első turistaútja Mátrafüredtől a Kalló-völgyön keresztül vezetett ide, foglalása is korán, 1890-ben történt.

Ezek vízigényének fedezésére a közeli forrásokat befogták (pl. Gyökeres-forrás, Kékes-forrás), 1926-ban ez történt a Szent László-forrással is: a hegyoldalban fakadó egyéb vizekkel közösen föld alatti medencébe gyűjtötték, ahonnan szivattyúk és vízvezetékek juttatták el a Somor-réten álló szanatóriumba. Eredeti „feladatát”, a túrázók kiszolgálását azonban a továbbiakban is ellátja: „Első és főrésze a gyűjtőmedence, amely a feltörő forrásokat egyesíti, második része tőle lejjebb a csurgó forrás, amelyet a kirándulók vesznek igénybe, harmadik része pedig a nagy vízmedence kétszáz köbméter víz befogadóképességgel, amelyből hatalmas csöveken vezeti a vizet a szanatóriumhoz.” /Uj Nemzedék, 1927. január/
