Mitten im Herzen der Oberlausitz auf dem Kottmar in 478 m Höhe entspringt die Spree, deren Endstation Berlin ist. Der Fluss wird von zwei weiteren Quellen gespeist. Eine der beiden anderen Spreequellen befindet sich in Neugersdorf am Volksbad und die andere in Ebersbach/Spreedorf. Der Zwerg Gerbot lädt Sie zu einer zünftigen Spreequelltaufe auf den Kottmar (583 m) ein, die sogar urkundlich festgehalten wird.
