Bővizű forrás fakad a Száraz-völgy mellékvölgyében, díszes, patinás kőfoglalása mellett hangulatos rétet találunk romosodó pihenőhellyel, szebb napokat látott kunyhók romjaival.
A Száraz-völgy egyik oldalvölgyében találjuk az öreg bükkössel körbevett karsztforrást, amelynek patinás, rakott terméskő foglalása a túrázás hőskorát idézi, és különös neve is a kiépítő turistaegyesület nevét őrzi.
A forrásvíz megbízható hozammal fakad egész évben; a legmelegebb hónapokban üdítő frissesség veszi körbe az árnyas és párás völgyet. A forrás alatt pár méterre leromlott állapotú pihenő áll egy kicsiny tisztás szélén.
Két kis ház romjait is fel lehet fedezni a kiszáradt fenyőfák alatt. A Veterán-tanya kunyhóit állítólag '56-os hősök használták a forradalom után, bujkálásuk éveiben pedig az ómassaiak segítették ki őket. A kis tisztásnak kerítése is volt a tehenek kívül tartására, mára azonban állapota leromlott: a 2010-es évek viharai fákat döntöttek a házikókra.
A völgyben két irányból a forráshoz vezető S● és P● jelzés köti össze a Száraz-völgyet (Ómassát) az Északi-Bükkel (Farkasnyaki-elágazás).

Public transport
- Ómassa buszmegállóba a 15-ös számú helyi járattal jutunk Miskolcról.
- Bánkútra is érkezhetünk szombat reggel helyközi járattal, Miskolc felől (Bánkút, hegytető) vagy hétköznapokon a Grand Tours egyszeri járatával.

- Ómassáról a Száraz-völgy S+ jelzésén át, végül a S● jelzésen jutunk el a Meteor-forrásig (1,7 km, 156 m szintemelkedés).
- Bánkútról a S+ jelzésen ereszkedünk le a Száraz-völgyben, majd a S● jelzésen kanyarodunk fel a Meteor-forráshoz (3,7 km, 40 m szintemelkedés).
Parking
- Az autót Ómassán vagy Bánkúton hagyhatjuk.
