A Szandavár alatti lejtőn aprócska, legendákkal övezett szentély bújik meg, amit a helyiek Képecskének is hívnak az itt található Szűz Mária-kép miatt. Az egykori zarándokhely melletti forrás vizének egykor gyógyító erőt tulajdonítottak.
Csodatevő forrás
Szandaváralja és Szanda vára között félúton, az Országos Kéktúra kék jelzése mentén találjuk az erdő mélyén megbújó, terméskövekkel kirakott forrást. A víz régen gyakran elapadt, ezért a 2000-es évek elején a foglalást kitisztították; azóta cső vezeti ki a felszínre. A Mária-forrás a nagyon száraz, csapadékmentes időszakok kivételével vízvételi lehetőséget biztosít az idelátogató zarándokoknak és túrázóknak.
A feltörő forrásvíznek a helyiek sokáig gyógyító erőt tulajdonítottak. Az idős falusiak történetei arról szólnak, hogy a különféle betegségben szenvedők a vizet kortyolva, bőrükre folyatva vagy borogatásként használva kigyógyultak nyavalyáikból. Egy szandai lakos, aki ugyancsak a víz miatt győzte le a betegségét, hálából készíttetett egy Mária-szobrot, és elhelyezte a forrás mellett kialakított kegyhelyen.
A kápolna
A forrástól pár lépést felfelé kapaszkodva egyszerű, üvegablakos, kívülről zárható, apró kápolnát találunk, benne Mária-szobor áll. A forrás és a kegyhely egykor búcsújáró hely volt, napjainkban már csak alkalomadtán szerveznek ide egy-egy zarándoklatot. A környéket a helyi hagyományőrzők tartják karban.

- A Becske, posta megállóból is indulhatunk.

- A becskei megállóból a K jelzést északi irányba követve érünk a helyszínre (4,5 km, 242 m szintemelkedés).

- Szandaváralján a Dózsa György út végén vagy a falu központjában érdemes letenni az autót.
