Az enyhén lúgos forrásvíz kiváló minőségét többek között a kiszsidányiak évszázados néphagyományának, a „forráskútrámolásnak” köszönheti. Minden év pünkösdjének szombatján kerül sor erre az eseményre, melynek évszázadokon keresztül két célja is volt: a forrás rendbetétele és a falubeli legények felavatása. A férfiúvá érő fiúknak nagy terméskövekből kirakott, 5 méter mély forráskútból ki kellett merniük a vizet, majd bátorságukat bebizonyítván le kellett mászniuk a kút aljába, hogy onnan felhozzanak egy vödör homokot. Így a szertartás végére a foglalat alja teljesen megtisztult, a falu többi lakosa pedig a forrás környékét hozta rendbe. A kút vize néhány méter megtétele után a Horvátzsidány belterületén eredő Boldogasszony-patakba torkollik.
Rododendronkert a szomszédban
A forrástól nem messze, a Fő út 2. szám alatt találjuk a Kiszsidányi Rododendronkertet, melyben mintegy 70 féle havasszépét csodálhatunk meg. A gyűjteményt az 1980-as években hozta létre Bánó István erdőmérnök, a kámoni arborétum egykori igazgatója. A napjainkban is a Bánó család birtokában lévő kert a havasszépék virágzásának időszakában (április-május), előre meghirdetett időpontokban látogatható.
