Palačački Kiseljak is a mineral water spa site known for its naturally carbonated and therapeutic waters, historically linked to the production of the well-known “Karađorđe” bottled water. The springs have been valued for their healing properties for centuries, with origins traced back to Roman times. Today, the site continues its tradition of mineral water production and spa use.
The mineral springs of Palačački Kiseljak have long been recognised for their natural carbonation and perceived therapeutic benefits. Historical references suggest that the healing qualities of the water were known as early as the Roman period, when the region was part of a wider network of spa and bathing sites. Later accounts, including those attributed to Ottoman-era travel writer Evliya Çelebi in the early 18th century, also mention the area’s mineral-rich waters and their local significance.

In modern times, the site has become closely associated with the production of bottled mineral water, most notably under the well-known “Karađorđe” brand. For more than four decades, water from these springs has been commercially bottled and distributed across Serbia. Despite its industrial use, the spa retains its identity as a natural resource with a long-standing reputation for wellness and traditional healing associations.
