Natural Monument Prümer Tor

The Prüm Gate is an intriguing geological feature that has formed solely through the power of water.

In a rock rib that is about 100 meters long and 12 meters high, water has carved out a gap about 6 - 8 meters wide over millions of years.
Through this gate, the Prüm vassals of the Ahrgau once drove their carts with their tithe towards Bad Münstereifel. This impressive rock gate thus received its name Prüm Gate.

Take a break and enjoy the view of this wonder of nature. Let your thoughts flow and refresh yourself at the bubbling Ahr.

The premium hiking trail AhrSteig (Stage 3) and the Ahr cycle path (about 350m away) pass by the Prüm Gate.
