A kastélyt 1970-ben lerombolták, építõanyagait széthordták, csupán néhány töredéke (oszlopfõ, homlokzati dísz) maradt meg, a helye jelenleg beépítetlen. Az egykori kastély gazdasági épülete a boltozatos pincés -földszintes- magastetõs un. „gazdatiszti ház” teljes rekonstrukcióra szorul. A kastély területe alatt található a jelenleg hasznosítatlan nagy kiterjedésû középkori boltíves pincerendszer.
A kastély pontos építési ideje nem ismert, de valószínűleg a 13. századtól már erődítmény állhatott itt. A "Kőkúria" első említése 1519-ből való. Ekkor az Ákosházi Sárkány család birtokába került. A kastélyban szállt meg II. Lajos a Mohács felé vezető útján 1526-ban.
1675-ben házasság révén a birtok és a kastély az Illésházy család kezébe került, majd 1828-tól Batthyány Fülöp, 1848-tól Sina György az érdi uradalom tulajdonosa. Sina Simon 1869-ben neoreneszánsz stílusban alakította át a kastélyt. A kastélyt rövid ideig a Wimpffen és a Károlyi család birtokolta, akik 1920-ban eladták a jezsuitáknak. Nyolc évvel később a Vizitációs női szerzetesrend birtokába került, 1940-től pedig a KALOT Népfőiskola (Katolikus Legényegyletek Országos Testülete) használta. A szovjet csapatok hadikórházat rendeztek be benne, ám épségben, beüvegezett ablakokkal vonultak ki belőle a negyvenes évek végén..
A II. világháború után a kastélyt a sorsára hagyták, szobáit szükséglakássá alakították. Az 1971-ben lebontott kastélynak mindössze az egyedülálló középkori pincerésze, és a 19. században kialakított pincerendszere maradt meg.
