A Balaton-felvidék északi részén, a Déli-Bakony lábánál fekvő két kis település, Vöröstó és Barnag egyaránt kálváriájáról híres. Vöröstó Kálvária-dombjáról szép kilátást kapunk a Bakony felé.
A Nagyvázsonyhoz közeli falu utcaképét a 18. században betelepült németek és az általuk meghonosított építkezési szokások alakították. A műemléki védettségű, egyutcás faluban ma is sok a míves kidolgozású, oszlopos, tornácos kőház.
A Vöröstó Barnag felőli határában fekvő egykori legelőn egy kerítésekkel szegélyezett pásztán sétálhatunk fel a kálvária dombjára. A 3 méter magas, klasszicista stílusú stációk két sorban sorakoznak a két oldalon, a 14 kép által keresztben felfelé haladva követhetjük Krisztus szenvedéstörténetét. A tetején a 19. század első felében épült, sokszög alaprajzú, kupolás kápolna áll, oszlopokkal szegélyezett bejárata messziről hívogat. Bár csak ünnepekkor látogatható, mégis megéri felsétálni a dombtetőre, mert csodás panoráma tárul elénk. Körülnézve alattunk a falu műemlék temploma emelkedik ki a tájból, messzebb Nagyvázsony házai sorakoznak. Távolabb a Déli-Bakony vonulatai keretezik a láthatárt, szemben a Kab-hegy jól beazonosítható csúcsával.
A Kálvária-dombról először egy 1783 és 1785 közt végzett katonai felmérés tesz említést. A kálvária mai formáját az 1880-as években nyerte el, a kápolna mellett álló két keresztet 1944-ben állították fel. 1996-97-es felújításakor a stációkba mázas kerámia domborművek kerültek.
