Der Stadtpark wurde von dem begüterten Apotheker und Ehrenbürger Alois Huth gestiftet.

Genauso wie der Kindergarten sollte hier auch für ärmere Bevölkerungsschichten ein Platz zum Erholen und Ausspannen geschaffen werden. Sogar ein Pavillon im Jugendstil wurde um 1900 errichtet, wo an Sonn- und Feiertagen musiziert und getanzt werden konnte. Noch heute gibt es die nach dem Apotheker benannte Huth-Eiche sowie etliche exotische Bäume.
