Wien Museum MUSA is a contemporary art venue of the Vienna Museum, showing Viennese and Austrian art from around 1945 to today with free admission.

MUSA (Museum Startgalerie Artothek) presents Vienna’s contemporary art scene with changing exhibitions drawn from a collection of about 50,000 works by roughly 5,000 artists, spanning painting, sculpture, photography, film, video, installation and more. The Startgalerie space gives young artists a platform to exhibit, and the Artothek lets Vienna residents borrow original artworks for their homes. Housed in a 1916 reinforced‑concrete city building with a glazed central courtyard exhibition space, MUSA links innovative contemporary art with Vienna’s cultural life and a lively exhibition programme.

Public transport

It’s a short walk from U2 U‑Bahn at Rathaus or Schottentor, and many trams serve the area (e.g., 1, D, 43, 44 at Landesgerichtsstraße or Rathausplatz/Burgtheater).

Parking

Street parking in the Inner City is mainly paid short‑term zones so spaces may be limited; using a nearby underground garage near Rathaus or around the University of Vienna and then walking or taking public transport is usually easier.
