With the Skyspace Lech by the internationally renowned artist James Turrell, the Arlberg receives a work of art that invites to a unique experience of the perception of light and space. James Turrell has designed a space of light for Lech, where the meeting of heaven and earth in the high alpine landscape can be experienced with a new perspective.
Light art at Skyspace Lech
The Skyspace concept, with the light art developed by James Turrell, can only be shown during sunrise, sunset and good weather. For this, the dome must be open.
The experience of this lighting program lasts about 45 minutes and is oriented to the time of sunrise and sunset. (www.sunrise-and-sunset.com).
Evening visit: Please come to the Skyspace about 10 minutes before sunset.
Morning visit: Please arrive at the Skyspace 45 minutes before sunrise.
During the day and in dry weather, the dome of the Skyspace remains open. During this time, the visitor can observe the changing sky moods in connection with the wandering light cone of the sun.
The Skyspace-Lech is open all year on a daily basis.
December 1st - April 19th: 12 am - 8 pm
April 20th - May 31st: 9 am - 6 pm (restricted opening hours!)
June 1st - November 30th: 1 hour before sunrise until 1 hour after sunset
Registration for public tours:
- Tickets are available online or at the tourist information at the "Dorfhus".
- Price: €15,- pp
- Please register by 6 p.m. on the day before the desired guided tour.
- For the realization of a guided tour, a minimum number of 8 participants is required.
Opening times
Skyspace Lech is open all year round. However, it should be noted that the Skyspace Lech may be closed at short notice due to adverse weather conditions or private tours.

Online ticket via: https://www.lech-zuers.at/skyspace-lech (guided tour & shuttle) or personally at the tourist office in Lech.
Please register no later than 2 days before the tour! Please note that the guided tour can only take place when the minimum number of participants has been reached.
Price (guided tour): € 15,-- per person plus shuttle (if desired). Number of participants: min. 8 / max. 30 persons.
The public guided tours take place in German as standard. Guided tours in English are available on request.
Cancellation fees: 0 % for cancellations up to 6pm the day before the tour. For cancellations at shorter notice 100 %.
In case of cancellation of the tour by the organizer due to insufficient number of participants, weather conditions or technical problems, 100% of the costs will be refunded.
A shuttle service will take you to the Skyspace-Lech tour:
Shuttle service: return € 10,-.
Meeting point 30 minutes before the tour starts at the Rüfiplatz.
