Die Ausstellung zeigt eine umfangreiche Sammlung mit Ölbildern, Gouachen, Zeichnungen und Stichen und gilt als grösste permanente Präsentation seines Schaffens. Ergänzt wird sie durch thematische Wechselausstellungen, die den künstlerischen Kontext und die Epoche zwischen Rokoko und Vorromantik beleuchten.
Untergebracht ist das Museum im historischen Singisenflügel des Klosters, eingebettet in das kulturelle Angebot von Murikultur. Die Verbindung von Architektur, Geschichte und Kunst ermöglicht einen vertieften Zugang zur Entwicklung der Landschaftsmalerei und zur Bedeutung der Alpen im 18. Jahrhundert.
