Right at the start of our tour, we walk through the secluded Gitzitobel, which confidently calls itself the "Grand Canyon" of the Seetal. It is a nature reserve and impresses with its great biodiversity. For example, about twenty different species of orchids can be admired here. Beyond Lindenberg, the monastery Muri, founded in 1027, awaits us in Freiamt as a national monument of art. It was closely connected with the noble Habsburg family. The hearts of Karl I. (the last Austrian emperor) and his wife Zita were laid to rest in the Loreto Chapel of the monastery.
From the bus stop in front of the Gasthof Kreuz in Aesch, we go south on the main road to the Vorderbach, which we now follow upstream along Donaustrasse. At a sawmill, we switch to the left bank, only 100 meters later back to the right again. In doing so, we leave the hiking trail, which leads away from the stream here. We follow some houses and then more or less follow the stream course. Where the official route joins again from the right, we continue on a narrow, romantic path. We are now in the Gitzitobel nature reserve; the path does not always follow the water directly here. Eventually, we say farewell to the valley for good and ascend to Tröleten. Shortly after a rustic inn, we leave the hiking trail again and stay on a small road until two more small roads join from the right. We choose the steeper of the two (with a grassy central strip) and reach Peyerhof across the field and along the forest edge. At the first houses, we cross the hiking trail, reach the main road, and
