O Museu de Aveiro está instalado no antigo Convento de Jesus da Ordem Dominicana feminina. Este convento é um dos mais antigos da região de Aveiro.
O Convento ganhou notoriedade quando a princesa D. Joana, filha de Afonso V, que se juntou à ordem em 1472, foi beatificada em 1693.
O Museu está em funcionamento nesta localidade desde 1911 e possui grande acervo religioso. Outro destaque do local é a Igreja de Jesus, decorada com talhas douradas e azulejos portugueses.
