mumok is Austria’s largest museum of modern and contemporary art, centred on 20th- and 21st-century international movements.

Located in the MuseumsQuartier, mumok houses a major collection of Modernism and post-war art, including works of Pop Art, Fluxus, Minimal Art and Conceptual Art, alongside contemporary positions. Highlights include key pieces by Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, Joseph Beuys, Claes Oldenburg, and important Austrian artists. The museum is based on the Ludwig Collection, expanded through acquisitions and temporary exhibitions that connect art with politics, society and media. Its striking dark basalt façade by architects Ortner & Ortner makes it one of the most recognisable buildings in the quarter.
