920 m über Madonna di Campiglio, im nördlichen Teil der Brenta-Gruppe, befindet sich der Passo Grostè. Der gern genutzte Wegübergang liegt auf 2446 m Höhe. Ganz in seiner Nähe, inmitten des Skigebiets Madonna di Campiglio, liegt das Rifugio Stoppani, das mit der Spinale Seilbahn erreicht werden kann. Wo im Winter Skifahrer zwischen den mächtigen Dolomitengipfeln ihre Schwünge durch den Schnee ziehen, findet man im Sommer zahlreiche Wanderer.
Anders als vielleicht vermutet, ist der Weg vom Rifugio zum Pass jedoch wenig fordernd, obwohl es durch eindrucksvolles Hochgebirgsambiente geht. Vom Sattel aus schweift der Blick über die Gesamtheit aller Dolomitengipfel: von den wilden Gipfeln und Zinnen der Brenta-Gruppe über den mächtigen Adamello und die Presanella bis zum Val di Non.
