Die barocken Statuen neben dem Stadtpark stammen von Veit Königer. Er wurde 1729 in Südtirol geboren und studierte an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Wien. Danach war er hauptsächlich in Graz und der Steiermark tätig.
Königers Hauptwerke finden sich in Graz, so etwa im Dom und in der Barmherzigenkirche.
Die Statuen in Wolfsberg stellen den knienden Christus am Ölberg, Jesus als Ecce-Homo, den sitzenden Christus und Christus an der Geiselsäule dar. Die weibliche Figur ist eine kniende Maria Magdalena. Sie wurden 1954 aus dem Inneren der Kreuzkapelle entfernt und hier aufgestellt, als man die Kreuzkapelle zum Mahnmal für Gefallene und Vermisste der beiden Weltkriege und des Kärntner Abwehrkampfes umgestaltete.
