Die Plastik wurde 1977 vom Feistritzer Bildhauer Konrad Campidell angefertigt und ersetzte die ursprüngliche Holzfigur.
Im März 2016 nahm die Österreichische UNESCO-Kommission das berühmte Kranzelreiten zu Weitensfeld in das Verzeichnis des nationalen immateriellen Kulturerbes in Österreich auf. Zum Anlass des einzigartigen Kranzelreitens wird die Figur festlich geschmückt und wartet an diesem Tag auf den Sieger des Wettlaufes. Sie wird ein weißes Kleid und eine rote Schärpe gekleidet, ihr Haupt ziert ein Brautkranz, in der linken Hand trägt sie einen Schlüsselbund, in der rechten eine Pfingstrose. Jedes Jahr am Pfingstmontag versammeln sich Reiter am Hauptplatz und veranstalten den Kranzellauf. Der Wettlaufsieger darf mit Hilfe einer Leiter zur Jungfrau emporsteigen, sie umarmen und küssen.
