Oberkommandant Johann Baptist Türk (1775-1841) wird der „Kärntner Andreas Hofer“ genannt. Geboren in Innsbruck und 1801 als Buchbinder nach Klagenfurt übersiedelt, zeichnete er sich als mutiger Kurier und Offizier in den Franzosenkriegen gegen Napoleon Bonaparte aus. Seinen Lebensabend verbrachte er auf seinem landwirtschaftlichen Anwesen in Töltschach, Gemeinde Maria Saal.
