This former Cistercian abbey is one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval monasteries.
The 850-year-old complex ranges from Romanesque to late Gothic, all under one roof. Outstanding are the abbey church with its Romanesque screen, 13th-century porch, choir stalls (1450) and 15th century vaulting. The monastery and the surrounding cultural landscape were added to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list in 1993.
