This sporty bike ride leads across the nature park from Heuchelberger Warte to Mühlacker. Due to some short sections on unpaved paths, a mountain bike is recommended.

Right at the start, there are some altitude meters to overcome during the ascent to the Heuchelberger Warte, where the view from the watchtower more than compensates for the possible sweat drops. The first section of the Nature Park Crossing follows the Württemberg Wine Hiking Trail on a scenic route – beautiful views of the wine landscape in the Zabergäu open up repeatedly.

Between Pfaffenhofen and the Ehmetsklinge reservoir Ehmetsklinge, the bike tour runs in the valley of the Zaber parallel to the water and is mostly flat – a section to catch your breath. A break at the lake can be ideally combined with a visit to the nature park center. Here, backgrounds and stories about the nature park are excitingly told.

Already on the shore of the Ehmetsklinge, a beautiful bathing and reservoir lake at the valley end, the next climb begins – now up onto the Stromberg ridge. In lively ups and downs, it goes up to the Schlossbergturm Sternenfels. Also a worthwhile stop to enjoy the view.

From the Schlossbergturm Sternenfels to the absolute highlight of the route, the UNESCO World Heritage Monastery of Maulbronn, it generally goes downhill before some altitude meters have to be overcome in the last 10 km. The route’s destination is in a loop below the Löffelstelz Castle in Mühlacker.

From Mühlacker, return to the starting point by light rail or German Rail in 70 to 80 minutes.
