Herrlich umgeben von einer parkähnlichen Anlage und dem Klostergarten voller Blumen und Gemüse.

Das Kloster Erlenbad in Sasbach/Obersasbach steht am Rand des Schwarzwaldes. Es wurde 1924-1926 erbaut, zu einer Zeit als die Gemeinschaft der Franziskanerinnenbereits eine sehr bewegte Geschichte hinter sich hatte.

Während des 2. Weltkrieges war das Mutterhaus Erlenbad beschlagnahmt u.a. für 300 Mann einer Baukompanie, für die Unterbringung von ca. 1000 volksdeutschen Umsiedlern. Der Klostergemeinde blieb wieder nur das Marienheim. Von 1927 bis 1956 war im Mutterhaus auch die Klosterschule untergebracht.

Heute sind viele der einst jungen, hochmotivierten Ordensfrauen nach einem erfüllten Leben auf ihren Stationen wieder ins Erlenbad zurückgekehrt, wo sie ihre letzte Lebensphase verbringen. Derzeit wohnen ca. 110 Schwestern im Mutterhaus. Außerdem ist es der Sitz der Provinzleitung und der Provinzverwaltung.
