Die Ostmühle Gildehaus wurde im 18. Jahrhundert erbaut und wird von Freizeitmüllern betrieben.

Die Gildehauser Ostmühle ist, dank des Einsatz von Einzelnen, als Baudenkmal erhalten geblieben und steht immer noch mit seinen markanten Flügeln auf dem Mühlenberg. Die Mühle wurde, unterstützt durch Landeszuwendungen aus dem Denkmalschutzprogramm, in den 1980er Jahren aufwendig restauriert. Ein Team aus Freizeitmüllern mahlt nun in der warmen Jahreszeit an den Samstagnachmittagen und jeden 1. Sonntag im Monat dort das Korn. Gleich nebenan befindet sich ein historisches Backhaus, wo an den Schautagen aus dem Mehl im alten Steinofen Brot gebacken wird, das selbstverständlich mit nach Hause genommen werden kann.
