Glurns ist die kleinste Stadt in Südtirol mit vollständig erhaltener Stadtmauer und ca. 890 Einwohnern. Das mittelalterliche Grenz- und Handelsstädtchen wurde im Jahr 1304 erstmals als Stadt erwähnt. Mit seinen Ringmauern, drei gewaltigen Tortürmen, einer Reihe von Wehrtürmen und vielen Gässchen und Winkeln ist das Städtchen Glurns ein wahres Juwel Südtirols, dessen Charakter sich seit dem Mittelalter kaum verändert hat.
