A Duna és a Garam hordalékából épült szigetetek.
Valójában öt szigetet hozott létre a két folyó a Garam torkolatánál. Ebből kettő még a torkolat felett van. Változatos áramlási rendszere folyamatosan alakítja, módosítja a mederben lerakott hordalékot. Több mellékágra szakad a folyó. A legmélyebb a Garam vonalában lévő, a Dunára keresztirányú áramlású ág.
A kisebb ágak a sekély meder miatt, alacsony vízállásnál nem járhatók. A Garam torkolattól induló nagyobb úgy 2 kilométer hosszú mellékág még kis vízállásnál is, evezősökkel legtöbbször hajózható. Felső szakasza sekély, lentebb homokos bal part a jellemző.
