In Kittsee wurde Emil Švec (1925-2010) im Oktober 1962 vom Geheimdienst der CSSR (ŠtB) in eine Falle gelockt, auf slowakisches Gebiet verschleppt und musste die Strafe in verschiedenen Haftanstalten absitzen. Während des Prager Frühlings wurde er nicht wie andere politische Häftlinge amnestiert. Erst 1969 wurde er rehabilitiert und frei gelassen. Drei Jahre später jedoch wurde diese Entscheidung rückgängig gemacht. Er wurde wieder verhaftet und blieb bis 1977 eingesperrt.
Nach 1989 bemühte sich der „Fliegende Flüchtling“ um eine offizielle Rehabilitierung und eine Anerkennung als Opfer des Kommunismus. Dies wurde jedoch immer wieder verweigert oder bürokratisch in die Länge gezogen. Als er das in einem Beschwerdebrief kritisierte und der Justiz vorwarf, dass sie immer noch von exkommunistischen Seilschaften dominiert würde, verurteilte man ihn zu bedingter Haft wegen „Beleidigung eines Amtsträgers“. Keiner der an der Entführung beteiligten Agenten des ŠtB musste sich vor Gericht verantworten.
