In 1839, the mill passed into the ownership of the Röhm family, who significantly modernized the business. The result was an efficient artificial mill with a turbine and roller mills, reflecting the technical progress of the time. The site was also further developed structurally: The original residential building was replaced and a new building was erected in 1895.
The silo house, built between 1932 and 1935 according to plans by the Göppingen architect Cziossek, is a defining element of the site. With its striking stepped gable and large storage capacity for grain, flour and by-products, it still stands for the industrial importance of the site today. Changes in use are also reflected in the infrastructure: the mill stream was drained in 1970, and later the water power could be used elsewhere to generate energy.
Milling has no longer been carried out on site since 2012. The buildings are now used for storage, sales and delivery. An on-site mill store ties in with the long tradition and brings the history of the mill to life to this day.
