Historic Wallmauer

To discover the Wallmauer, we recommend taking the Pirschweg trail from Bergalingen to Rüttehof. The historic structure – a former fortification comprising a dry stone wall built without mortar and a trench – is located on the Pirschweg. It was built to protect the Hotzenwald from enemy incursions from the west. It is possible to follow its course for several kilometres. At many points, the trail reveals fabulous views across the Rhine Valley as far as the Alps.
