The Porte de Landau (1708), witness of the Vauban period, is built on medieval fortifications. A sun carved on one of the faces of the gate recalls the oath of allegiance taken to the King of France in 1680. Upstairs (only accessible during a guided tour) in the exhibition room is a model of the city's fortifications, based on plans from 1782.
