A trading house stood next to the old town hall as early as 1775. In 1889/90 a residential and commercial building in the Wilhelminian style was built on the same site. In addition to selling all kinds of goods, the Ziegler brothers also ran a banking business and traded securities, stocks and foreign exchange.
