Die ehemaligen Handwerker- und Arbeiterhäuser der Fröschengasse waren teilweise an die ehemalige Stadtmauer angebaut. Seit 1978 ist die Gasse vorwiegend im barocken Stil wiederhergestellt worden. Restaurants mit idyllischen Innenhöfen laden zum verweilen ein.
Am Ende der Fröschengasse (Saarstraße) zeugen die Hochwassermarken von der Lage Saarbrückens am Fluss.
