Over a length of 20 kilometers and 55 stations, the Murgtalpfad offers a wealth of information on natural history, history and current topics. Due to the height difference from the source at 1,000 m above sea level in Herrischried-Lochhäuser up to the mouth (290 m above sea level), different climatic zones and variously shaped landscape formations can be recognized.
The Murgtalpfad can be hiked in sections; It makes sense to take the bus from Bad Säckingen to Herrischried-Lochhäuser (line 7328) and start the hike down the valley. At the end point Murg there are numerous opportunities to stop, there are also regular bus and train connections to Bad Säckingen.
