Kaptárkőnek az olyan sziklát, kőtornyot nevezzük, amelybe hajdan kis fülkéket faragott az ember. Hazánkban eddig több mint félezer fülkét mértek fel. A fülkéknek jellegzetes, felül elkeskenyedő alakja van, átlagosan 60 cm magasak, 30 cm szélesek és 25-30 cm mélyek, és nagy részükön jól látszik a peremen körbefutó keret, ami arra utal, hogy a fülkéket lefedték.
Ahogy azt a Téka füzetek sorozatban megjelent Szakrális kőemlékeink-Kaptárkövek Magyarországon című kiadványban olvashatjuk, a fülkés szikláknak számos más elnevezése is ismert. Hívják még például köpüsköveknek, vakablakos köveknek, bálványköveknek, püspöksüvegnek is.

A rádióadó melletti völgy nyugati oldalában felhagyott kőbánya található, mely jelenleg már csak turisztikai célokat szolgál: udvarában padok, tájékoztató táblák láthatóak. A kedvelt kirándulóhely szabadon látogatható.A fülkét tartalmazó szikla a déli irányban kiszélesedő völgy keleti oldalában, a fennsík peremén húzódó sziklapad, melyen 1 db faragott fülke található.
