The nearly 700 year-old water castle is located three kilometers north of Bitburg in Rittersdorf. It houses in the Gothic Knights' Hall, the registrar's office (branch) of the District Administration of the Bitburg region.
The Rittersdorf Castle has remained almost entirely unaltered since its construction, providing an impressive image of late medieval and modern Renaissance residential culture. The approximately 700-year-old water castle is located three km north of Bitburg in Rittersdorf. It houses a small local museum and the civil registry office (branch) of the Bitburg-Land association municipality in the Gothic knights' hall. Additionally, there is a privately run restaurant offering fine country cuisine. Art historically, the castle is particularly known for its elaborately designed gate arch.
In the elegantly furnished rooms of the restaurant, one can enjoy fine country cuisine and first-class wine.
The castle complex has numerous parking spaces with a fine gravel surface. Access to the castle is also possible for wheelchair users; however, there is cobblestone paving in the castle courtyard.
The Rittersdorf Castle is located on the hiking trail No. 79 of the Südeifel Nature Park as well as on the Rittersdorf Fitness Trail.
