Inmitten der Hauptstadt befindet sich die größte Burg des Landes, die Budaer Burg, die eigentlich nicht nur eine einzige Burg ist, sondern ein ganzes Burgviertel.

Um die ganze Gegend zu begehen, sollte man einen ganzen Tag einplanen, wer jedoch auch die Nemzeti Galéria (Nationalgalerie), das Labyrinth, die Mátyás-templom (Matthiaskirche) und das Sziklakórház (Felsenkrankenhaus) besichtigen möchte, muss sogar ein ganzes Wochenende dafür einplanen. Aber man weiß wenigstens, dass es sich lohnt.
