A Magas-Bakonyból induló Cuha-patak a híres, vasútjáról ismert áttörése után még egy, kisebb szurdokot is vág magának, mielőtt kilépne a Kisalföldre. A barlangokat rejtő, meredek sziklafalakkal kísért vízfolyás túl nehéz terep az erdőgazdálkodásra, a szabálytalan, 140-160 évnél idősebb fákból álló szurdokerdőhöz a sziklák tetején karsztbokorerdők csatlakoznak. Igazi, feltöltődésre alkalmas kirándulóhely.

A Bakony északi vonulatainak egyik parányi öregerdő-morzsája található az Alsó-Cuha-szurdok oldalain – összterülete alig több, mint 15 hektár. A szurdok talajvédelmi rendeltetésű erdőiben nincs hagyományos faanyagtermelés.

  • Érkezhetünk Bakonyszentlászló vasútállomásáról is.
  • A Bakonyszentlászló, felső buszmegálló esik a legközelebb a szurdokhoz a falu megállóhelyei közül.
  • A Bakonyszentkirály, bejárati út buszmegálló is egy lehetséges startpont.

Directions

  • A Bakonyszentlászló, felső buszmegállóból a S+ jelzés vezet a szurdok felé. Ezt a P+ jelzés kétszer is keresztezi, amire a második elágazásban kell balra áttérnünk (2,9 km, 33 m szintemelkedés).
  • Bakonyszentkirályról a P jelzés vezet a szurdokhoz, amelyet végül az Ördög-réten a P+ jelzésre váltva (egyenes irányt tartva) érünk el (3,8 km, 20 m szintemelkedés).

Parking

  • Parkolni Vinyén, a vasúti megállóhely mellett lehet a legközelebb.
