Im Weidachwald leben einige sehr zutrauliche Eichhörnchen, die sich im Laufe der Zeit an den Menschen gewöhnt haben. Die putzigen Wildtiere nähern sich teilweise sogar der ausgestreckten Hand. Das Füttern der Eichhörnchen ist zwar nicht ausdrücklich verboten, man sollte aber bedenken, dass es sich um freilebende Tiere handelt. Es stellt ein Eingriff in das natürliche Gleichgewicht dar, wenn die Eichhörnchen mit Wal- und Haselnüssen, Sonnenblumenkernen, Äpfel oder Karotten gefüttert werden. Im Wald lassen sich neben den Eichhörnchen auch Eichelhäher, Krähen und einige andere Vogelarten sehr gut beobachten.
