We start at the Iller bridge in Bihlerdorf and ride on Illerstraße towards Oberzollbrücke. From here, we ascend to Hüttenberg and Bettenried before reaching Ofterschwang. Here, we enjoy the wonderful view over the valley plain to the mountains on the opposite side of the Iller.
Our route continues along the ridge with views of the Iller Valley to Obermaiselstein. We pass through the town towards Tiefenbach, passing a mini-golf park that, instead of the usual obstacles, features grass surfaces and sand bunkers styled like the "big brother"
Further south, we reach the rock cut known as the "Hirschsprung", which leads us through between Schwarzenberg and Ochsenberg. Beyond the narrow passage, a narrow valley with dark coniferous forest opens up, gradually revealing the view of the Oberstdorf mountains. Over a rolling route, we arrive at Tiefenbach, circle the Burgberg and reach the Breitach, which accompanies us on the way down. We pass under the B19 (which we take if we start from Oberstdorf) and continue along the Iller to Rubi.
We take one last look at the impressive mountains and make our way back along the Iller. Our route now runs pleasantly straight and we enjoy views of the opposite heights we have already overcome. At Fischen, we cross to the other side of the Iller and continue to Altstätten, before a final climb over Beilenberg, Hofen, and Margarethen leads us to Sonthofen.
Finally, we follow the well-marked cycle path signage through Sonthofen to the Ortwanger Baggersee, where we turn left along the Iller back to Bihlerdorf.
