Open-air Ethnographic Museum (Szentendre)
The internationally renowned and awarded museum was aimed to present traditional architecture, rural life and economy of Hungarian regions through original buildings and objects from the mid-18th century to the early-20th century.
Currently, peasant households from 8 regions (Upper Tisza Region, the Great Plain, the Little Plain, Bakony/Balaton Uplands, West Transdanubia, South Transdanubia, Upland market town, North Hungarian village) are displayed together with buildings for community and sacral life as well as farming. It is home to an admirable collection of nearly 400 buildings, 80 thousand objects, 118 thousand photos and 21 thousand slides.
Besides open-air exhibitions museum lessons also await children. The Heritage Workshop Programme provides and insight into traditional crafts, for example cooking and baking in a furnace. If tired of walking, take the Skanzen Train, a bike or a scooter at the entrance to explore the museum.

- Get off the suburban train (HÉV) from Batthyány Square, Budapest in Szentendre (next to the bus station).
- Get off the coach at "Szentendre, autóbusz-állomásig".
- Take the shuttle bus from the bus station to "Szentendre, Skanzen".
