The first organic gin from the Bliesgau biosphere reserve!
Blackriver Gin is the first organic gin from the Bliesgau biosphere reserve. When developing their gin, the founders, Christian Ehrhardt and Christian Hurth, drew inspiration from their connection to the Saarland and the use of carefully selected ingredients from the region. It is therefore not surprising that great importance was attached to the quality and origin of the 10 botanicals and that typical regional botanicals such as ribwort plantain are used.
Blackriver Gin is produced with love and dedication in the Monter distillery - handcrafted in Saarland and distilled in a copper still. The family business has been in operation for six generations since 1846 and is certified organic. Production takes place in small batches. The basis is an organic pure alcohol based on wheat, which is distilled with the botanicals. Several macerates then give the gin its colour and unique flavour. All ingredients are certified organic and of the highest quality. The gentle production process with many controlled steps preserves the flavours of the botanicals and combines them perfectly.
Blackriver Gin impresses with its diversity and dense flavour - a surprising combination of herbs such as rosemary, apple mint and lavender as well as fruity berry components and the subtle note of juniper. An impressive flavour, pleasantly mild and with a strikingly long finish. The brilliant colour is also exceptional: a delicate violet with a hint of rosé.
