Wallfahrtskirche St. Leonhard

In the treasure and iron chamber for the offerings of pilgrims the six "Würdinger" are kept, heavy iron figures, which were "protected" (lifted) by the guys on the feast day of St Leonhard, a custom to protect against disease. On the Sunday after St Leonard's Day (6/11), the famous horse ride in honour of the saint takes place in Aigen. From 1840 - 1849 Johann Birndorfer, who later became St. Conrad, travelled here on foot almost once a week. In Aigen he had a strong urge to join the service of God. Directly before the St. Leonhard pilgrimage church the path branches to the left. You leave the village in a northern direction, after Hart and Schambach. Here the B 12 has to be crossed again. Leave the main road at the first turn-off to the right and follow the road up to Krempl. At Stadlöd you go into the valley to Erlbach, turn left towards Rotthalmünster on a well-developed foot and cycle path. The cycle path passes through the village and we come back to the Via Nova signs. A detour to the Wieskapelle in Rotthalmünster is worthwhile.
