Die Stadtkirche trägt den Namen „Corporis Christi“ aus dem lateinischen übersetzt „Zum heiligen Leichnam“.
Es handelt sich um eine dreischiffige spätgotische Hallenkirche von 4 Jochen, mit langgestrecktem Chorhaus und einem mächtigen Turmsockel zwischen dem Langhaus und Chor. Im Inneren der Kirche befindet sich beachtenswertes Kulturgut. Das Schmuckstück ist die 1565 geschaffene tönerne Kanzel, geschaffen vom Strehlaer Töpfer und Bildschnitzer Melchior Tatzen, der damit sein wertvollstes Meisterstück im Alter von 24 Jahren vollbracht hat.
Die Kirche wurde in den Jahren 1990 bis 2005 in mehreren Abschnitten umfangreich saniert. Auf dem Pfarrhof befindet sich eine Pilgerherberge. Rathaus
Das herausragendste Gebäude am Markt ist das an der Nordwestecke gelegene Rathaus. Es Zählt neben der Kirche und dem Schloss zu den wohl bedeutendsten Gebäuden der Stadt Strehla. Leider fiel das Rathaus mehreren Bränden zum Opfer. So auch im Dezember 1752. Erst nach vier Jahren konnte der Stadtgemeinde das jetzige Rathaus übergeben werden. Die Inschrift im halbkreisförmigen Feld lautet in freier Übersetzung;
„Indem Gott der Allergrößte gnädig war und Friedrich August, König von Polen und Kur- fürst von Sachsen, die Erlaubnis gab, ist dieses Gebäude unter der obersten Leitung der Lehensherren Dam Sigismund von Pflugk und Otto Ferdinand von Pflugk zum öffentlichen Gebrauch aus der Asche wieder hergestellt worden. Jahr der Wiederherstellung des Heils 1756.“ Außerdem zieren die farbig gestalteten Wappen der Adelsfamilie von Pflugk und das Stadtwappen den Eingang des Rathauses.Seit 2021 ist die Gemeinde Schwesternkirchgemeinde von Riesa,der Friedenskirchgemeinde Staucha.
