Prvá písomná zmienka o kostole je až z r. 1399 a pôvodné patrocínium bolo Všetkých svätých.
Najstaršie zachované prvky sú 3 románske štrbinové okná a ranogotický južný portál. V omietke lode boli objavené odtlačky prstov majstrov staviteľov. Interiér vymaľovali technikou secco v 14. stor., ktoré boli pri obnovách v 18. a 19. stor., takmer celé zničené.
Okrem fragmentov fresiek bolo v kostole objavených 6 konsekračných krížov. Pri výskume boli nájdené vtáčie kosti, čo je dôkazom prelínania sa pohanskej tradície s kresťanstvom pri založení kostola v podobe stavebnej obete.
Interiér je typický pre reformované kostoly. Zaujme vás drevený kazetový strop, kópia staršieho stropu z r.1875 –1876, ktorý bol osadený počas celkovej obnovy kostola. Z oboch strán obdĺžnikového priestoru kostola sú murované empory, na sev. strane je umiestnený neorenesančný organ z r. 1913. Kazateľnica je murovaná, centrálne umiestnená. V jej blízkosti je barokovo-klasicistická tzv. Mojžišova lavica určená pre farára.
