Heiligenmoschel and its church were burnt down in 1632. Duke Christian IV of Zweibrücken had the church rebuilt in 1748/49 for the reformed congregation. The four-storey tower, built around 1300, was still preserved from the earlier building. It was given a bell storey and a spire. A new nave was added to the tower. A dedication stone above the entrance portal commemorates the gift from the prince/duke to the parish.
